Review of Reconfigurement
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a self-help book aimed at motivating readers to take charge of their finances and set up a well-planned retirement structure. This book discusses financial planning, retirement, disability insurance, incomes and expenditures.
This book comprises 13 chapters and a 180-page count. So this book is fast-paced and can be covered in one sitting. This book is full of information and awareness in every chapter. Alan begins this book by bringing to the reader’s notice the existing decay threatening to destroy the financial security of Americans; with the growing population and the help of several brands pitching longer life strategies it is only a matter of time before the employment sector becomes jam-packed and people are left penny less when retirement comes knocking and disabilities strike. Because of these vices, Alan hopes that through this book he would be able to provide the missing piece of the equation – “Planning for retirement.” Through the course of this book, Alan addresses retirement procedures, mentions tips for getting through with disabilities, and notes a planning system to prepare for the future explaining each available retirement option open to individuals and couples alike (although limited to Americans). Alan also shares links to help readers get additional insight into everything established in the book, these links made this novel look very professional.
The writing technique introduced by Alan in this book is unique among several self-help books that I have come across. Alan managed to explain his key points using easy-to-understand grammar plus an additional sense of humour. The humour aspects of this book were indeed a great relaxation to me because I could see that in all the problems outlined in the book, even one as evil as death and as terrible as a disability the author still managed to portray and diffuse a feeling of hope and calm to his readers. Reading this book made me reflect on what my retirement would mean to me and how I can plan for it. I also found this book flawless, and error-free and for this, I appreciate the author.
As for the Negative aspect of this book: I only found it inappropriate that this book was primarily written to fit the American environment and therefore would be difficult for anyone outside America to employ these techniques in their region.
Although this book managed to keep my interest till the last page, I urge Alan to take a second look at these errors and if possible make changes to this book in such a way that several persons outside America can find the information outlined in this book applicable to their respective regions. Nevertheless, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
I recommend this book to everybody and anyone that have come to decision-making and working age; read this book to analyse, evaluate and plan your future. If you also need help planning your retirement as an older person I think you just found the perfect book!
