Africans faced racism all over the world during the pre-colonial era. They were denied many rights and treated like animals. But over time, they fought back and reclaimed what was rightfully theirs.

A Dream for Peace is a memoir written by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah. Ghoulem was born in Algeria. He grew up in an extended family. He was a brilliant student, but due to racism in his country, he couldn't study some of his favorite subjects. He received a scholarship to study medicine in France after finishing high school. His elder brother, the family's head, did not want him to go because they could not afford his college education. He was allowed to attend college after convincing his brother. He had a difficult time settling in France at first, but over time he became acquainted with other Africans who came to study in France. Ghoulem and his friends founded an organization to combat racism and discrimination against Africans. Later, he fought for Algeria's independence. Was he successful? Read this book to find out.

This book inspired me greatly. Dr. Ghoulem's zeal and determination to bring about a revolution in Africa motivated me. Even though he faced numerous challenges, he never gave up on his dream of redeeming Africa. This book helped me understand what happened during colonialism and the suffering in Africa. This book also discusses twentieth-century African history. Although the author provided a lengthy narrative of his life story, I was not bored by it. The images used in some chapters of this book were effective in helping me understand the author's narration. I found the book's inspirational quotes to be very encouraging.

This book was a pleasure to read. There was nothing about this book that I didn't like. The book illustrates the zeal with which Africans fought colonialism. It also demonstrated their desire for national sovereignty as well as political independence. I admired the kind of friendship shared between Ghoulem and his friends. They loved and supported one another. He and his friends also demonstrated great bravery while advocating for Algeria's independence. I learned virtues like perseverance, courage, sacrifice, love, patriotism, and dedication from reading this book. I also learned how important it is to respect other people's religions. I also appreciated how the author used this book to demonstrate that people of different faiths can be friends.

I would give the book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars because I learned a lot about the benefits of peace. The book was exceptionally well edited and had no grammatical errors. People who enjoy reading about African history and pre-colonial events will undoubtedly enjoy this book.

Ghoulem Berrah is a good man. I love his stance not to let the racial discrimination hurt his feelings. He rose above the unfair treatment to get good grades and move on to get what he desired. Nice review.
