Review of The Dream Primer
The Dream Primer by Jeff Meyer teaches that everyone has a .dream
The book teaches that pursuing our dream is important for our own benefit and for that of society as a whole. Throughout the book, the reader is taken on an interactive journey of identifying, validating and pursuing their dream.
I absolutely loved this book. It was incredibly inspiring and romantic, though not overly fanciful. This topic was approached from a very realistic and practical perspective. The fact that this book was written during the pandemic makes it even more inspirational, and highlights the importance of pursuing our dreams especially in the face of turbulent times. Meyer is respectful of the fact that everyone’s dream is different, and that different tools and perspectives work for different people. The main reason this book is so empowering is that it emphasizes actionable points that focus on what is within the reader’s ability. It is all about what we can and must do. The book is interactive and filled with questions and prompts to help the reader. Reading The Dream Primer felt like having a conversation with a knowledgeable friend who knows how to get right to the point. Not a sentence is wasted; I was constantly learning something new or reading something that made me think. The book is broad enough to encompass whatever the reader’s dream may be, but specific enough that the questions and prompts are applicable and helpful. The aspect of spirituality was tastefully included and added to the power of the book rather than detracting from it or serving as an ulterior motive. After I finished reading the e-book, I immediately ordered a paper copy. I intend to read it again and mark it up. I think it will serve as a great guide to finding and traveling the path that leads to fulfilling my dreams.
There were minor typos and grammatical errors sprinkled throughout the book. There are no additional negative comments to be made regarding this book.
I rate this book 4 out of 5. There were fewer than 10 grammatical errors. Some of those “errors” may be considered grammatical preference. Regardless, this is one of the most inspiring books I’ve ever read. I’m also certain that this will not be my last time reading it.
This book is for people who are struggling to figure out what they want to accomplish in their life. It is for people who know what their dream is but are not sure how to pursue it. It is for people who are pursuing their dream but feel stuck or doubtful. It is for people who don’t think they have a dream. It is for people who have been pushing their dream aside, waiting for the perfect time to pursue it. It is for people who are willing to challenge their limiting beliefs and to do something different to get a different outcome. I think this book will benefit anyone who chooses to read it, and whoever chooses to do so needs to be ready to be honest with themselves about who they are and what they want. The well-guided questions and exercises make that necessary introspection much easier.
