Review of Reconfigurement
Do you want to enjoy reading about insurance? Read Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer. This book is an example of writing in plain English, without compromise, useful, easy to read, and enjoyable.
With the rapid improvement in medical and health care, nowadays, the average American lifespan increased by about 30 years. That challenges the present retirement financial plans. The author, MR. Fleischauer, is a financial advisor, he created this program “Reconfigurement financial planning,” to address a topic the financial industry provides little about, which is, planning ahead for retirement.
In thirteen chapters you will read a brief explanation about a lot of financial subjects related to retirement like annuities, mutual funds, municipal bonds, donor-advised funds, general obligation bonds, life insurance, and so much more. It is brief and full at the same time. My favorite is chapter three, it is about psychology and personality types. Also, this chapter represents the main objective of the book, which is to learn about the importance of planning ahead, and that assessments are one of the most important parts of building and reconfiguring your career. After taking those assessments, you will know your personality strengths, and what kind of jobs suit you.
In chapter four, the author discussed retirement planning, and some software tools available online to help you with creating actionable steps to accomplish your plan. A significant topic discussed in chapter five is, life insurance, and a brief history about it. Then, everybody’s favorite subject, “investment,” in chapter seven. Finally, in the last chapter there is a list of useful resources if you want to read in depth about retirement planning, work from home jobs, and age reboot. There are many useful links as well.
The best thing about this book is that you will find practical life lessons in the form of a standup comedy show. But don't get me wrong, it is not a shallow book, every single line, there is a valuable piece of information, additionally, every chapter, there is an interesting history story. The author made it effortless to understand complex financial subjects, like insurance policies, and investment funds. He is a life-coach who can change your mindset with his creative way of giving advice.
There is nothing I disliked about this book. Who knew that financial advice books can be written in such a friendly, storytelling, creative tone, with hilarious jokes? And it is professionally edited as well. Therefore, I rate Reconfigurement a perfect 5 out of 5 stars for being such a joy to read.
I recommend this book to senior American citizens and residents. It is about important topics to them: retirement and insurance plans in the US. I also recommend it to youth people everywhere, to start planning ahead early, and to discover a career that they will enjoy. People in the financial industry will benefit from reading this book too.
