A Dream for Peace was written by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah. The author began this engrossing memoir by outlining his hometown. He was born in Aïn Beïda in the province of Constantine in Northeastern Algeria. After receiving a scholarship to study anywhere, he decided to go to France for his university studies. This was where his life mission began, as he tried to balance politics and his studies in school.

It was the period when the colonists were bent on removing their cultural existence. Algeria was struggling for independence, and many revolutionary organizations were formed to ensure that Algeria gained liberation and independence. This era documents freedom for Algerians and Dr. Berrah's involvement in the world of politics. The author was at the center of this resolution.

I adore how the book introduced Algeria to the reader at the outset; it addresses its lapses in security and some other factors. The book is enriched with information about Berrah's place of birth and its culture. I enjoyed reading this part as I became aware of some unfamiliar cultures of these people. The book also tells how the women dress at weddings and interesting cultural scenes. Marriage was seen as a form of establishing alliances among different families. The town of Aïn Beïda was portrayed most peacefully and adorably.

After Berrah's father's death, his mother's involvement in making sure he became a responsible man was astonishing to read. His mother was his source of encouragement. Berrah's mother's psychic abilities also guarded her son against negative influences.

This book embodies energy, politics, strength, and a lot of positive themes. This book also extensively discusses a man on a mission and his indulgences in fighting for freedom and unity. Berrah's excellent quality to use his medical knowledge as a means of assistance to a lot of people was his great act of service. For instance, when there was no medical school in Morocco, Dr. Berrah had to register in a law school in order to get "legal authorization to organize Algerian students in Morocco." This book will leave many positive impacts on many's lives. Dr. Berrah was selfless. The world needs more of these people for it to be a better place for inhabitants.

Also, I loved how extremely detailed and organized the book was. This left a striking note of the author's personality. He included pictures in the book, giving it life and reality. I enjoy seeing those beautiful pictures.

I found nothing negative about this book. It was worth my reading. There were just a few errors I discovered while reading. But this book seems professionally edited and well-written. It deserves a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I will recommend this book to those who are interested in politics, especially those interested in Algerian politics. This book will appeal to them more.
