Review of A Dream For Peace
A Dream for Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a nonfiction memoir that deals with the journey of an activist who fought for the freedom of Algeria. He was born in Algeria, under the influence of France. This book contains seventeen chapters, each of which tackles a different aspect of Berrah's life.
Dr. Ghoulem Berrah started by stating his hometown and his educational background. He studied medicine, but at one point in his life, he had an interest in being an activist. Berrah’s educational days made him meet people with lots of ambition, which made him reach a high level in life. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, despite being a doctor, had so many defined goals in life. He was also a scientist who found something very interesting in the race of man. What did he achieve? Read this book. Dr. Ghoulem faced a lot of persecution while fighting for the freedom of Algeria, and he went far and near to get help from different countries. His zeal to decolonize Algeria made him popular globally. Due to his well-known character, he assisted the president of Cote d'Ivoire. Did Algeria later gain independence through Berrah’s fight?
This book contains detailed information about Dr. Berrah’s life. One thing that intrigued me in this book was the determination Ghoulem had in fighting for Algeria despite all the difficulties he faced. Dr. Ghoulem was a Muslim who married a Christian, yet he showed no sign of rejection towards his wife's religion; rather, he even joined their hands in order to keep her happy. I love the plot of this book. The author arranged his life journey in a logical way that didn’t create room for confusion.
I found no flaws in this book; it was free from errors and written by an experienced author. This book has a lot of moral lessons. Dr. Berrah stated in this book that we should all follow peace. I think this aspect of this book caught my attention. I found no errors in this book. This book was exceptionally well edited. I also must commend the author for his effort in the publishing of this book. The font of the book was energetic, but I must say this was a lengthy read.
I recommend this book, A Dream for Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, to historians and also to people over the age of 16, as the book is complex. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. This book was morally outstanding and is one of the best books on my shelf. I think Dr. Ghoulem is a very nice role model that the younger generations can emulate. I’m looking forward to reading more of Berrah’s book. This was a great read.
