In Reconfigurement, E. Alan Fleischauer wrote about closing the gap between the reality of Americans living longer and the traditional investment of the financial plan with reconfigurement financial planning. This book is about creating a retirement plan that addresses both the pre and post retirement actions that should be completed. All the information provided is trustworthy due to the author having a Retirement Income Certified Professional designation and being a financial advisor working at a retirement planning firm. In this joke-filled interactive book the author addresses different assessments to complete in order to find the career that best suits your strengths and moves on to other tools that will assist you in planning ahead by creating a financial plan. Some tools he mentions are online software like Envestnet Money Guide, life insurances like whole life insurance, different programs and benefits of social security, explaining the advantages and disadvantages of certain investment options like mutual funds and corporate bonds, and much more. Find out more about planning for your future by reading this funny and informative piece that E. Alan Fleischauer wrote, Reconfigurement.

I can honestly say that this book is filled to the brim with positive aspects. For starters, I loved how the author used multiple credible sources to back up what he was saying, like paraphrasing from the Journal of Financial Planning or the Principles Financial, Inc. I enjoyed how interactive this book was with every few pages there were diagrams and jokes that allowed an open and friendly environment to be created. I liked that when the author would provide a lot of information he would speak directly to the reader in order to allow the reader time to digest the information. I also really enjoyed how easy this book was to understand because the author made sure to simplify all that he was saying. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that the book seemed to be professionally edited as well. One last positive aspect is how much information was provided for each topic, even though it was a short book there was much to gain from reading it.

This book was so spectacular that I am left with little to complain about. The only negative aspect I have for this book is that I felt the author dived too far into history lessons. Oftentimes when the author would explain a topic he would thoroughly explain the topic's background and how it came to be, like the reason for social security or life insurance. Although this was at times beneficial, the author delved into background information a tad too much.

Because I enjoyed reading this book due to all the information I was able to gather to start preparing my own retirement plans I rate this book four out of five stars. I did not rate it a complete five stars because I did not like how the author constantly explained the background information of each topic.

I recommend this book to all those who enjoy an informational nonfiction book. To be more specific, those who wish to start preparing for their future, but don’t know where to begin, should read this book because this book is the blueprint for financial planning.
