Review of Reconfigurement
"The trouble with retirement is that you never get a day off" (page 71).
The Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book about preparing for about the last twenty-thirty years of your life. E. Alan Fleischauer has been a financial advisor for over 20 years, focusing a lot on the topic of retirement. Having come in contact with many people whose retirement era is completely unprepared and who, as a result, have found themselves in a difficult financial situation at a time. Because so many people are struggling about the theme and as there is a solutioin the author came up with the book Reconfigurement .
One important aspect of this book is that the old way "work hard - spend little" during Your working years is no longer valid today. Also, the age of retirement has caught up with the times (it was established almost 100 years ago when life expectancy was even below retirement age!) because people are living longer, plus anyone can start a completely new career at any age.
The book is positive, encouraging, thought-provoking, makes you look at the same thing from different angles.
Each topic related to preparing for retirement includes both an action and an explanation of why it's important - income, planning, looking ahead, insurance, investing, medical care and more. In addition, the author directs the reader to think more precisely about his visions of how he wants to spend his retirement, as well as which areas become more money-consuming as a person ages and which other circumstances to take into account (spouse, parents who need help, children, grandchildren, etc.).
In addition to the above, E. Alan Fleischauer also presents the idea of how to find a field of activity that suits you when preparing for retirement or already retired, which can become a person's all new career. In order to learn more about yourself, the author shares his experiences with various tests that can be done on the Internet and which should provide information about your personality or work-related values. This is very good, because without outside help it can take an unreasonable amount of time to reach reliable information. Or you just leave it at all. The author also shares information about books and web sites, which he recommends to look up in relation to the topics discussed in his book.
Although the book is about retirement tips in the United States and its systems, much of it is directly or indirectly applicable to other countries as well. Or at least prompts the person to investigate what is offered elsewhere, both by private companies and the state.
I rate Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer 5 out of 5 stars. The book is easy to read, written briskly and with easy flow, the vocabulary is easy to understand and easy to follow. Also the book was exceptionally well edited.
I recommend reading Reconfigurement to anyone who has even once thought about retirement or who otherwise likes to be prepared for things that come up in life.
