Review of A Dream For Peace
Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's memoir, A Dream For Peace, is an engrossing one. The author was raised by his parents as the only son after his brother passed away; he was born in Algeria. He desired to liberate Algeria from French colonialism, which was why he was a political activist. Additionally, he was committed to eradicating colonialism from other African nations. To accomplish the mission, he teamed up with certain people who also wanted to liberate Algeria. Ghoulem was a gifted man with a variety of talents. He was an ambassador for revolution, an advocate for freedom, a physician, and a peacemaker. He was the first scientist to put forth the reverse transcriptase enzyme theory. He was one of those responsible for bringing about peace between Israel and Palestine. He was a Muslim, but he married a Christian. Get a copy to learn more.
The author's struggles to free his country from French colonialism made me incredibly thrilled as I read about them. Only a select few people may be found in the entire world who are willing to give their lives to achieve true freedom. The captivating narrative began with the author's own nation, racism, and his struggle against French colonial rule in Algeria. In great detail, Ghoulem explained in his book his mission to liberate his country and other African nations. The accomplishments of the author as well as his persistence, altruism, and excitement in achieving his goals had me very impressed. I related to the author's biography as I read it. After reading his book, I concluded that I had not given the world any noteworthy sacrifices or accomplishments. This book is inspiring, engrossing, and instructive. Despite being a Muslim, he was cordial towards believers in other religions as well as Christians and Jews.
One of the things that interested me in this book was his dedication to bringing about peace on the African continent. I was unable to put the book down as I read of the author's steadfast pursuit of his goals despite the difficulties he faced. The fact that he was so altruistic as to start a revolution also caught my attention. He was imprisoned and exposed to a variety of sorts of torture, but it didn't destroy his spirit; on the contrary, it motivated him to fight even harder to realize his ambition. Through each chapter of this book, the author took readers on a journey as he sought to change. After reading this instructive memoir, readers will also have a greater grasp of the impacts of colonialism and the suffering in Africa. The author is quite innovative, and I love the pictures he used in some of the chapters to help me understand some of the murky concepts I had at first about the book. The inspirational quotes at the end of each chapter made the book unique.
Although this book is lengthy, I didn't find anything about it unappealing, and I still enjoyed it. The story's plot is well-developed and organized. This is the book that will motivate readers to sacrificially look for ways to advance the growth of their own nations. The memoir will be helpful to the world because of the author's altruism, perseverance, and consideration of his objectives. These were first seen in his rejection of a bribe from the dean of a university.
I commend the author for his originality. I will also appreciate the editor because the book was professionally edited and only two mistakes were discovered. I rate this book five out of five stars because it taught me how to love and care for people while also assisting me in realizing how to be selfless in my dreams. I advise people interested in African history and memoirs to read this book.
