What new Christian believers often struggle with, in my opinion, are the difficult teachings and rituals that most Christians practice. New believers are barely thought of, and mature Christians fail to consider teaching them the basics of Christianity. The book Help! I’m Saved by Jennifer Ervig and Megan Monterrosa fills this gap by helping new believers learn the basics. It begins by describing the reader’s salvation and spiritual identity. Then it teaches how to pray and read the Bible. It also discusses church rituals such as worship and tithing. Besides telling readers how they should interact in a church as a family, the authors teach new believers how they can live a Christlike life filled with the Holy Spirit and the Father’s love.

Help! I’m Saved is a great beginning for those who have recently given their lives to Jesus. I suggest that most churches help new believers read this book as soon as they join the church. It is an easy beginning, and readers will be able to understand what kind of life they have entered.

The first thing I love about this book is its simplicity and friendliness. The authors’ approach is comfortable and not stiff. It is not just a set of rules, and the authors’ voice is far from legalistic. This is not a book of dos and don’ts; rather, the authors say, “You don’t have to earn your salvation—it has already been purchased with the blood of Christ” (Megan, page 19). The manner in which this book discusses the topics is simple enough for a child to understand. I hope readers will not have a hard time understanding it. This is what new believers need.

In Help! I’m Saved, all referenced Bible verses are included on the page for convenience. This is an ideal method to help new believers stick to their studies because it might not be easy for them to open to different verses quickly.

I hated nothing in this book, and I did not find any typos while reading. For the abovementioned reasons, I rate it five out of five stars. I strongly recommend Help! I’m Saved to those who recently came to believe in Jesus and do not know what to do next. This book will help them know more about their salvation and the essence of the community of God. Readers will be able to interact with fellow Christians quickly.

I think this book is appealing to someone who just started entering Christianity. I've seen some convert religions, e.g.from Muslim to Christianity so this book is a perfect one. Thanks for your clear and concise review!

In your review it is easy to feel your personal enjoyment in reading the book because of this my interest is peaked. It sounds like a warm, welcoming book without being to pushy. Lets face it everyone has an opinion one way or another based on their own personal experiences that may not be the same as someone else's. Personally I try to remain as openminded as possible so as not to miss anything or be proven wrong.
