"You are God." That was a statement I never gave much thought to, although my religion spoke about us being made in God's image and likeness. Franco Romero took it up a notch while delving into subjects that could raise eyebrows. The Closet Spiritualist took me on an enlightenment ride, testing everything I had ever believed.

Throughout his current existence here on earth, Franco Romero has felt his life isn't what it is supposed to be. After surviving a near-death experience as an infant and other mystical events, a constant restlessness comes over him. This leads him to meet "Caleb," which begins a turning point on his life path. What insight will this encounter garner? What are the necessary conditions to achieve a high level of awakening?

The book title is one of the many things that intrigued me to start reading. "Closet" is one of those terms used to describe things society usually shuns. Reading this book to the end requires a certain level of open-mindedness because most of the author's statements and beliefs are just thought-provoking and can be rigidly unbelievable for some readers. Also, the book calls for a slow read and a re-read for proper assimilation because of its abstractness.

Although I can't entirely agree with some of his points, some resonate with me. I agree with the need for communication with the inner child, the probability of one, and the law of resonance. The author addresses the behavior of modern-day society and how much we have lost our true purpose. He elaborates further on this societal issue. Meanwhile, the probability of one is the most exciting to read because I already practice that belief, and this book is a reaffirmation.

I like how the author weaves his personal experiences into his message, showcasing his doubt and discussing the secret of his clairvoyant abilities. The epiphanies from "Caleb" will be strange to outsiders except for the author. There are a lot of debatable topics in the book, ranging from the "You are God" statement to the "Outer Journey." Familiar insight can be seen across the pages of The Closet Spiritualist. However, I will leave it to fellow readers' interpretation of the argumentative power of the author's message.

The author's core message centered on global awakening, which was explained by the voice of "Caleb." The prophecy stated in the book would act as a foreshadowing of what could come.

The Closet Spiritualist was a lot to unpack. However, the author made it easy with his writing and narrative style. It was properly articulated and unambiguous in delivery. The editing was professional. I'd rate it 5 out of 5 stars because there was nothing to dislike. Although the author said it was a book for everyone, I would recommend it to readers interested in books with a touch of mysticism that would challenge their thinking.
