In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes is a book that everyone can learn from. The author's premise is stated clearly by the author, allowing readers to consider their opinions on each subject. Readers are made aware of their beliefs and justifications using some of the world's worst problems as analogies. To find meaning in our daily thoughts and interactions, taking each idea in this book and considering how it relates to one's life is crucial. It is this kind of thinking the author hopes will promote change in the world.
The word choices made by the author are this book's greatest asset. The writing in the book is clear and succinct, and the way the ideas flow is excellent. With each new sentence, the reader is given a fresh, thought-provoking reality about the terrible realities of contemporary civilizations. The humor that the author uses helps to keep the reader's interest as well as elevate the emotions stirred up by the topic of discussion without detracting from the intended message.
There isn't much i didnt like about this book. Some of the subject matter might be difficult for people. Every chapter is dedicated to discussing the things that the world tends to ignore. Shining light on these subjects may not be taken well by everyone. There are times when the book seems to repeat itself, which can become confusing at times.
I give this book 5 out 5 stars, because the core message of the importance of unity is inspiring. It is written in a way that the reader will understand and appreciate. The topics are important to everyone and it reminds us that we are all part of the solution as well.
Overall, I believe that everyone can benefit from reading this book. No matter what your views are on what is wrong with the world, everyone can agree that there are things that need to be changed.
