Review of Seeds to Unfolding: Release, Freedom, Power
Every individual is expected to set goals for himself or herself because that is one of the vital instruments that pushes a person forward. W. C. Blackmon, in his book Seeds to Unfolding: Release, Freedom, Power, exposes the reader to how a person can achieve a win at every phase of their life. The book explores the themes of hard work, preparation, and decision-making.
This 93-page book is an eye-opener that teaches the reader to delve deep into who they are and become the best they can be. The author spends ample time discussing choice and its role in shaping an individual's life. Just as the title of the book states, it discusses freedom and how it can be achieved. The subject of hope is included as he talks about its advantages. The author uses his experience to clarify the issues of purpose, mentorship, vision, etc., among other things. Why is it essential for a person to always take a stand, not minding what others will say? Are we all gifted, or is it meant for certain people? Read this book to find out.
Blackmon did an impressive job of gathering several words of wisdom, putting them together, and creating a masterpiece. He digs deep into his wealth of knowledge to encapsulate values in the book. The author's conceptual framework gives the reader a straightforward comprehension of the message being passed across in the book. Few quotes were mentioned in the book, but I fell in love with the one by Jalaluddin Rumi, which says, "Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today, I am wise, so I am changing myself." This saying gave me a clear picture of the role I have to play if I am determined to see the change in the world. The author's choice of words was simple and straight to the point. A few graphics were included in several aspects of the book, which helped give more depth to the messages.
The tone of the book was one of the things that drew me in and compelled me to continue reading it. The author was encouraging, and every page contained vital information that widened my exposure and helped me examine myself to become someone better. I also love how he uses his experience to drive home certain points; this makes it easy for the reader to relate to the message the author was trying to convey.
The book needed to be professionally edited because, while reading it, I encountered several grammatical and punctuation errors that slowed down my reading process. I also noticed that a particular segment of the book was repeated twice (pages 30 and 39); this should be looked into. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
In conclusion, I recommend this book to those who desire to see a change around them and also become the best version of themselves. The pages of the book will enlighten the reader on how to adapt and also be a positive influence wherever they find themselves.
