Review of Reconfigurement
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a non-fiction book about financial and retirement planning. Retirement planning needs to change since the lives of many Americans in the future rely on it. Many Americans age more than before; they require a new retirement planning strategy. To plan your financial future, you first need to have an income; without it, planning will be difficult. The biggest finance competitor is consumption since resources are limited, and we have to consume. The author mentions the need to think about what you earn in life other than being short-sighted by thinking about the next week or year. It enables one to plan for the future. Life protection is important when planning and can be achieved through life insurance policies. When planning for retirement, social security is essential. It is funded through the social security program paid by the payroll tax system. Workers and employees pay social security tax which pays benefits to the beneficiaries.
In ensuring that the readers understood the book, the author provided links to external sources for additional information on retirement and financial planning. The links help the readers find additional information that the author may have left out or act as reference materials. The information was educative since it helped the reader learn to plan. The author talks about the best planning strategy given the current situation where people are living longer than before. He provides ways to plan, such as having an insurance policy, social security, and investment. I liked how the author appreciated the reader for reading the book by congratulating them and telling them to give themselves a round of applause.
The book was good; hence, nothing to dislike in it. The language used was simple enough to ensure anyone would read it.
I rate Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer five out of five stars. The book was professionally edited because I found a few errors. The author presented the information well since each chapter discussed a specific idea of planning. It ensured discussing each point in detail for readers to understand the new strategy well. The author went a step further and provided links to external sources for readers to understand the strategy even better. He used examples of people earning different incomes to illustrate how the strategy works. The presentation deserves a perfect rating since the errors didn't affect the rating.
I recommend this book to people interested in financial and retirement planning. The book talks about the new strategy that applies in the current state of the world. People would use this strategy to plan for their retirement.
