Reconfigurement: Reconfiguring Your Life at Any Stage and Planning Ahead by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book aimed at people that want to retire in a financially responsible way. The author emphasizes that the timing of our preparation is key and one ought to be planning for retirement. This book will make you consider creating a buffer between your family and future financial obligations. The author, a financial management specialist, goes into detail about what plans we should have in motion, going beyond the savings accounts families usually have. He also mentions ways for retirees to make income, which assures people that they will not run out of money; a fear which is common among Americans.

In terms of positive aspects, I appreciated the jokes the author made sure to include. I felt that it lightened the content to a point where I was more susceptible to the points made. They were a bit distracting, but they made the assimilation of information that much easier. Furthermore, I enjoyed how factual the book was. The author did extensive research and included credible references that support his claims, such as the Bureau of Statistics. He also provides information regarding the American Workforce and social security fund, making this book valuable to Americans. I also liked his clear writing style and that his points did not go over my head.

There was only one thing I did not enjoy when it comes to this book. The target audience is formed only of Americans, as the book does discuss a few concepts that are not extrapolatable for other nations. This did make the book slightly less relevant to me, and a big part of his reader base. I feel like this information should be mentioned in the title to avoid any confusion.

Planning ahead and cultivating the art of budgeting is crucial for all generations, and this book offers numerous methods and information about this. I feel like this is a valuable book. As I enjoyed it and the editing was professional, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars .

When it comes to recommending this book, I feel that anyone over the age of 20 should consider some of the points made, especially the concept of budgeting and saving money. The target audience of this book is somewhat narrowed by the fact that most examples are relevant to Americans, yet a lot of the information is still applicable to citizens of other nationalities. There is no age restriction for this book, however, the concepts discussed call for a certain level of maturity. This book is for anyone that wants to plan their financial future efficiently.
