The book Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is an eye-opening book that talks about retirement, retirees, and potential retirees. The book is mainly about planning ahead for retirement: financial plans, medical plans, insurance plans, and lots more. In the book, Alan also disclosed and discussed various pre- and post-retirement activities and programs that could make your retirement years stress-free and worthwhile. Reconfigurement basically talks about all your retirement plans in a book.

There were a lot of things I liked about this book, one of which was the author’s sense of humor. He literally creates space for jokes. There aren't many financial planning books out there that crack you up while reading. And he seemed to know when to chip in with those jokes. I also liked how he writes freely. He expands on any term or subject that looks confusing, whether or not it’s something you should have known before sitting down to read a book on financial planning. Lastly, I liked the specificity in the statistics and data he provides, with proper referencing for all of them.

There is nothing I did not like about the book. Everything was set in place. Everything was covered. I like how the author backs up his claims with proper data and statistics, and also how he is able to make the uninteresting parts of the book still look interesting. He always transitioned to a new chapter with a bunch of random financial planning jokes. So there’s always room for a good laugh at the end of each chapter.

My rating for this book is 5 out of 5 stars. The book was professionally edited, and the information in it was presented in the best possible way. It also had a way of making you stick with it until the end. Even at points when it starts looking too much, you still get a joke or two.

I recommend this book for retirees and workers who are likely to retire soon and are looking for the best ways to make their retirement period a blast. I also recommend it to financial planners, tax advisors, and anyone else who might be looking for a good financial planning book with a little bit of humor in it.
