Review of In It Together (2nd Edition Hardcover from B&N)
The essence of identity defines the path of individuals and understanding oneself is the key to true happiness. However, many people pay attention to the wrong things around them and define themselves with materialistic items. It leaves them in a cycle that keeps them dependent on temporary elements that could be gone at any point. But how can we escape this cycle? How can we find our true selves? In It Together (2nd Edition Hardcover from B&N) by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes is a book that seeks to answer this question.
In It Together (2nd Edition Hardcover from B&N) is a self-help book that explains the essence of one’s consciousness and the path to true happiness. It explains how everyone shares similar struggles and the common misconceptions of identity that people use to tie themselves down to the world. It breaks down the different levels of oneself and how each layer contributes to the human experience.
I had a good time reading this book. I appreciated reading the author’s perspective on life because it helped me pay closer attention to my life and the elements I prioritize. It helped me realize that I tend to tie my identity to things that can disappear at any second, even if they aren’t necessarily materialistic items. The metaphorical statements used to emphasize the importance of consciousness left a powerful impact. They helped me realize that I was placing my focus on things that would never grant me genuine relief.
Additionally, I appreciate how the author’s point was concise and direct. I previously read the digital version of In It Together and remembered there being several parts that felt scattered and redundant. The revisions made to this edition have led to vast improvement and I feel a new sense of clarity when reading it.
This book was a delight to read. Hughes was able to deliver an impactful message through a well-organized medium. The content has provided me with information that I will be reflecting on for a long time and I found no grammatical errors. This book deserves nothing less than a 5 out of 5.
I would recommend In It Together (2nd Edition Hardcover from B&N) to people who place a heavy level of importance outside of anything they can’t control. Reading the book is one of the best ways to reevaluate and adjust your life to fulfill the maximum amount of peace.
