In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes is a beautiful, engrossing book. It is one that really opens your mind and eyes. It was hard to put down as the writing is eloquent and really speaks to you. It was easy to read but also meaningful and inspirational. I love the fact that the book opens with a quote by Ram Dass, a spiritual leader, who has tremendously influenced my life.

This book draws on the philosophy and wisdom of spiritual leaders and gives you a completely new perspective on the way we choose to live. The author, Eckhart Aurelius Hughes, gives you insight into why we all fall prey to living the way we do. He then motivates you to make permanent, positive changes in your life. It is definitely worth rereading as one would find even more insights on the second read.

Quotes from Albert Einstein, Vincent Van Gogh, and Carl Jung really highlight the message of this book. One of the most meaningful quotes from Eckhart Aurelius Hughe’s book is, “When you have inner peace, the grass is always green enough on this side, the side on which you find yourself.”

It was a great realization to see how love unites us all. Through reading, we find that we share more similarities than differences with the people around us. Eckhart Aurelius Hughes does a good job of speaking to us in a kind manner. He speaks to us like we are old friends and it is clear that he only wants the best for us. His writing never feels as if he is lecturing us or speaking down to us.

We come to see that without the struggle, life would have no meaning. We need the sadness and darkness in our lives to appreciate the beauty and happiness we eventually all experience. We learn through In it Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All that through these difficult times and experiences is when we experience the most growth. We also gain a perspective on our purpose in life and an appreciation of all the blessings in our lives that we tend to overlook and take for granted. This book makes you think, slow down, and really examine how you are living without just going through the motions and getting stuck in a daily rut. Surviving tough times is what gives us the strength and resolve to live more fully.

From reading this book, we realize that the frustrating, difficult experiences that we all eventually go through help us to evolve and really grow. In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All takes you on a journey of self-discovery, and really helps you to be the best version of yourself. This book was definitely professionally edited, as I did not come across any errors throughout reading the entire book. I also liked everything about this book, there was nothing about it that I disliked. It is, therefore, that I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
