Review of Reconfigurement
E. Alan Fleischauer authored the book Reconfigurement. It's a life-changing book that details helpful tips that a person can incorporate into his or her life to adequately enjoy his or her retirement period. There comes a time in a person's life when society would require or encourage him or her to retire as a result of aging. What would happen to the person if he or she didn't prepare for the rainy day? Well, the answer is in this book. The insurance policies, jobs, investments, and activities that one can actively key into as a young adult were extensively described. Furthermore, earning money while working without saving or spending according to one's order of priorities would be detrimental to the future. Hence, the concepts of saving and budgeting were analyzed.
I love this book because its content makes one critically analyze and predict how his or her future is going to be considering the present state of the happenings going on in his or her life. What one sows is what he or she is surely going to reap. Even when a lot of planning has been put in place, contingencies may arise close to retirement. However, there is no cause for panic because the writer exposed backup plans and tips that would still guarantee a fulfilling retirement phase. The way the writer incorporated different stories of people who heavily invested during their working years and later enjoyed their aging period motivated me. I also learned pertinent lessons from the stories of people who struggled financially after retirement because they didn't plan their youthful days well.
Many older people look back on their youthful days and become filled with so much distress and regret because they didn't explore their lives well then. They see younger people being successful in their careers and having their lives so much figured out. They begin to feel unfulfilled, and since the strength to achieve all they would have achieved isn't there again, they may purge into depression, which can become a threat to their existence. In this book, the writer admonishes the reader to explore his or her life well by traveling to amazing places, building meaningful relationships, working to gain different experiences, participating in good exercises, and building a strong career.
Considering that all aspects of this book exhilarated me, I will rate it five out of five stars. It was professionally edited. I only found a few errors that didn't have any major effect on the book. I also thought it was well done because the subject was very detailed and expository. The content has taught me the need to utilize my youthful days in a productive way to avoid regrets in the future.
I, therefore, recommend it to people aged forty and above and to young people who want to know how to adequately prepare for their retirement, because preparing early would yield good future results. Retired individuals who are still very agile would also get helpful financial tips from this book.
