What is your plan once you retire? So many questions will arise from this one and so many others when you start digging deeper into your goals. Well, E. Alan Fleischauer- who has been a financial advisor for more than 20 years, brings Reconfigurement, a self-help non-fiction book a guide on personal finance whether you're starting your career or planning your retirement. It addresses one of the many challenges most Americans have nowadays and yet don't know, in addition to many considerations in life to build your retirement plan.

The fact that modern life promotes high levels of consumerism without worrying that much about the future, the author brings up all the important things to consider in terms of legal features such as 401Ks, insurance, Social Security, types of investments, wills and trusts, etc. But also, he ignites the question of how many years are you planning to live. Or, what would happen in case of any accident or disease to you or any member of your family? Those are topics hard to digest and at the same time important to consider when planning your retirement.

Reading the book was like having a conversation, it is jargon-free from the language of economics with plenty of jokes! It will not give you the final recipe for your retirement because there is no such thing! This recipe should have some of the following ingredients: a person’s risk tolerance, marital status, projected longevity, and amount of assets among other considerations. Also, it contains online tools which make a practical learning experience.

Without a doubt, it will provoke your mind and the need to be up to date with the subject mentioned before so you can plan to your own needs and situation. In addition, give us a reminder of the most valuable assets in our lives, time, and the ability to earn money in that time!
Finally, the book was exceptionally well edited, I did not see any typos on the OBC Reader app. I give a 5 out of 5 stars on this reading, since it is easy to follow along even without previous related knowledge and because it has the potential to ignite a life change or in the words of the author to be a “turning point” for those who are struggling with future financial plans. I consider this book will be a good fit for anyone who wants to start planning their retirement days, even if they are a young adult.
