Review of Reconfigurement
Reconfigurement by author E. Alan Fleischauer is a financial advisor that helps people with financial planning and management. This book focuses on the financial guidance crucial for Americans to reconfigure their financial plan, safeguard their income, and ensure they achieve their retirement lifestyle. It covers a wide range of information, from career assessment, insurance plans, and investment types to other social programs and retirement plans. The author also briefed the reader on the background information of each financial plan, including its history and evolution, which allows the reader to understand the products thoroughly before executing the plan. As a result, he made this a good book both as a financial guide and as a history of financial progress. Finally, the author provided readers with recommended reading materials at the end of the book.
The positive aspect of this book is that the author has provided a comprehensive financial guide that benefits the reader in every way, from assessing their career interests and identifying their desired career to the types of insurance and investments. It means that while the author guides the reader to land on better financial planning, the author also values the reader’s lifestyle. Besides, the author has conveyed the message using layman's English, which makes it easy to understand and suitable for everyone from any background. Additionally, the author included the 401 (k) and social security into the context, elaborating on the necessity and consideration, which is hardly talked about by others.
While this book helps people to understand a vast range of financial plans, these plans are applicable only in the USA, which makes it irrelevant to other English readers who live outside of the USA. Besides, it also doesn’t help readers who are already in debt or in a more needy situation, but rather for those who can afford a change or investment.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because the author has delivered the content professionally. Besides, it was written and edited perfectly, which makes reading easy. Although I consider this book suitable for a smaller group of readers, it is still a good resource. It’s unfair to demand a source to be relevant for everyone from different backgrounds, so it doesn't affect my rating.
I recommend this book to any American who is interested in financial planning. While this book intended to assist those looking to reconfigure their career and financial plans, it certainly made an excellent book to help those who are about to start their career and wish to stay ahead of their planning. However, this book might be too progressive for working adults who are financially illiterate and poor with management and discipline. This group of people might need other resources to guide them in understanding their current financial status better before they dive into this book.
