Some older adults are affluent even after they retire from their jobs because they embark on sound financial planning. A good financial plan entails planning your life or business before retirement. Many people, especially those in middle age, are usually worried about who will take care of their needs if they become old and retire. With sound financial planning, older people don't have to rely on their children to take care of their needs; instead, they will look out for the existing investments they have made in their younger days. The novel Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a work of nonfiction that advises older adults to invest their salaries before retiring. Reading this novel, you will learn about various topics that can make us financially stable in the future. Such issues include life insurance, investment, savings, planning, the protection of income, and the assessment of careers.

There are four things I find interesting about the text. First, this novel is educational. It educates people, especially younger people, on how to plan for their futures. Most youths care only about lavishing on money, but this novel will at least teach them the sense of making suitable investments. I also love the idea of the author writing this novel from the first-person point of view; this makes the story very easy to understand. In addition, I was intrigued by the short number of pages of the novel. I've never enjoyed reading long books as I'm not a patient reader. I at least enjoy this novel because it goes straight to the point. Finally, there is nothing like a paradoxical statement in the story that can twist the reader's mind. A man with a low level of education will be able to comprehend this book.

There is one problem with the text. The issue is that the author talks as if he is only referring to US citizens, which is biased. However, irrespective of this drawback, anyone from different countries can benefit from this novel.

This novel deserves 5 out of 5 stars due to its simplicity and educational content. The drawback of the text I initially mentioned doesn't distract me from gaining something from the book. It was very well proofread; it only has one punctuation error.

The novel is free of sex scenes, violent content, or profanity that may affect young readers. Anyone can read it. However, I will recommend it to middle-aged men interested in making plans for their lives that will benefit them in the long run.
