We must recognize that there is no set formula for how women should live their lives. That is why we must respect the decisions made by each woman for herself and her family. Every woman deserves the opportunity to fulfill her God-given potential. These were the words of Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State and the first woman nominated for U.S. president by a major political party. Over time, women have been stereotyped as being exclusively good at being mothers. But some incredible women have changed the course of history by ruling the traditionally male-dominated fields of business, music, politics, healthcare, etc.

Maria Tunicka Conductor by James Aiello is about an inspirational woman who fights to overcome an abusive father, a repressive communist government, World Wars 1 and 11, and the patriarchal world of music conducting to become the first female conductor of a Polish symphony orchestra and represent Poland on a global stage. As time progressed, Maria took a risk by including "Rite of Spring" by Igor Stravinsky, one of the most challenging musical compositions for conductors. In her performance, everyone around her disagreed with her choice because they believed it to be too hazardous. Maria reassured the orchestra members that they would do exceptionally well because they had received appropriate preparation and were skilled musicians. Did Maria succeed in her goal? I was engrossed as I followed Maria's story in this book because her determination and courage will encourage every reader of this book. Maria did not allow her difficult upbringing to prevent her from reaching her potential. Despite the disadvantages associated with being a woman, she continued to strive to be the greatest in her field. At a time when women were rarely recognized in the field of music conducting, Maria's fearlessness and bravery propelled her to the top of the symphonic conducting world. No matter how famous she grew, she never lost sight of her roots. Also, her love for family was so admirable. Maria taught me to never give up on my goals and to never accept anything less. This book conveys the idea that opportunities shouldn't be distributed based on gender and that everyone deserves the ability to pursue their aspirations regardless of gender.

Maria is my favorite character in this book because of the lessons I learned from her as I was reading it. Her personality has a lot of lessons for female readers. Also, another thing I enjoyed in this book was the author's writing style. The manner in which the author presented each character in this book captured my full attention. All the characters in this book are given unique voices.

There is nothing I dislike about this book. However, I believe the book's title needs to be modified because it does not adequately convey the book's theme and does not immediately grab the reader's interest, though this is not a good reason to remove a star. I was glued to the book as I followed the captivating writing style of the author in this book. I want to applaud the author and the editor for a job well done because the book is excellently edited and no errors were discovered in it.

I rate this book five out of five stars because of the numerous lessons I learned from it. I recommend this book to everyone, especially readers of motivational autobiographies.

The fight for equality for women in society has always been paramount in my opinion. I remember that during Hillary Clinton's campaign and how she was supported by the women of America mostly. Nice review and an interesting piece of knowledge.

Today women are treated less because they feel they are weaker and can't contest for the same position with a man, but I see that not to be true. Every woman should be treated equally, like a man is treated too. I love how inspiring and encouraging Maria's story is. Nice review.

Women are constantly treated less favorably in the society we live in today because people believe they are incapable of handling difficult situations or competing for the same positions as men. However, in my opinion, this is not the case. I personally believe that women should be treated equally. Thank you.

I don't think it's accurate that women today receive preferential treatment because they believe they are weaker and can't compete for the same positions as males. Every woman need to be treated equally, just like a male. Maria's tale is so uplifting and inspiring, I adore it. good review

If women are still treated less in this present time I imagine how it would look like during the time of Maraia. I am glad she was able to succeed and make a name for herself.

I agree with you, no formula states how women should live their lives. Many women are not treated nicely due to the area they found themselves. I will recommend this book to all women. Good job.

Maria's courage and determination is one to be admired. It's very easy to make excuses when one is faced with difficulties in life, but Maria refused to give up.

Everyone who wants to alter the course of history must have the audacity and fortitude to take responsibility for their own lives, regardless of what others may think. This review is amazing.
