Review of The First Time Father
Are you a first-time parent? Or to be more specific, a first-time father? You're probably still not familiar with the do's and don't's when it comes to your baby. Or even the basics of parenting. If that's your case, there's a book that suits perfectly for you. The First Time Father: The Expectant Survival Guide for First Time Dads Through Pregnancy Journey by Alfie Thomas aims to help first-time fathers to be familiar with and have deep knowledge about their babies starting from their first seconds on Earth until their first year. From the years of experience Alfie had been through the past years being a father, he shares an in-depth understanding of newborns and how first-time fathers must prepare for it. Alfie starts sharing basic to advanced skills that a father is required to know. This book shares not just how to be a father. Alfie also shares information on how fathers become helpful husbands to their wives.
The first factor that caught my attention is how detailed yet direct the advice and tips shared in this book are. Evident in the way the author delivers information is how he wants to share the step-by-step process and easy-to-digest information. Another thing that I liked is that he didn't use complex words. In fact, he used a conversational tone so that the readers could feel that this advice and tips are from a friend whose willing to give a helping hand.
Another thing that I particularly liked is the examples or scenarios given from time to time or whenever needed. These examples and scenarios help readers to digest the information more easily and show the reliability of the book. These also help the readers to know where to apply the knowledge they learned and how they should do it.
Another factor that I liked is that the book is not lengthy. The author tried to compress the idea and information into more or less 150 pages. Although the book seems short, Alfie assured readers that the information he indicated is helpful and handy.
Although I found a lot of commendable factors in this book, I didn't find any negative factors that would ruin the quality of the book. It is also exceptionally well-edited, and I didn't find any grammatical errors. Because of these reasons, I gladly award this book five out of five stars.
I highly recommend this book to readers who are looking for a book that will guide them on how to be a more effective father and helpful husband.
