Review of God Chose Me
God Chose Me by Claude Jones is the story of a young man who didn't have an easy life. He managed to get through its hardships with the guidance of God throughout the way. It started when his mom got pregnant with him while she was a teenager. She managed to keep him in spite of the rejection from her family. That didn't go smoothly and led to him moving between places, but he finally settled with his adoptive parents. His life changed when he lost both of his mothers, but would it continue that way? You need to read this book to find out.
What fascinated me all through this book was the sense of appreciation the writer had for God and for his mother. Going through all these hardships, one would expect him to be at least angry. The opposite occurred. First, he was always grateful to his mom for making the decision to keep him and deliver him to the world. Although he didn't have a smooth life, he appreciated it. He appreciated going to jail for a long time because that changed his life. How often can you see that?
I didn't see anything to dislike about this book. I had many things to impress me. I even liked the things that were provided to him in jail. I liked that it was really meant to be a time to fix people, not just shut them away. I like that he took the chance to fix his life and kept his good attitude after getting out of jail. I see that this book's greatest value is that what makes a difference isn't what happens to you; it's how you perceive it and react to it. Our writer here has always searched for a bright side to appreciate, and for that I appreciate him.
For all the above reasons, I gladly rate this book five out of five stars. You can always learn something from a resume, especially if it was written from the heart.
I recommend this book for people who want to learn about hope and appreciation. The writer could turn his life in a whole new direction after getting lost in the streets. I need to mention that the book is focused on the writer's appreciation of God, and that's always mentioned throughout the book. If you don't believe in God in any way, you might not relate to it.
