Review of Stress Test: How Donald Trump Threatens American Democracy
William Cooper offers a realistic and eye opening perspective of the reality facing the American government and society throughout the Trump era. Stress Test: How Donald Trump Threatens American Democracy is a culmination of William Cooper’s columns, detailing the series of events that unfolded between 2019 - 2022, and connects how Trump’s manipulation of power was a perfect storm. Cooper’s opinionated works are not only a reflection on Donald Trump’s presidency, but of the American mindset and politics. Overall, it speaks of the ultimate question, where does this leave the United States of America now? What is most important to the author, is to uncover how both weak and strong minded the American society and government has become. His columns allow for a humbling moment to self reflect, while pointing the finger to everyone. It is no secret America is currently divided, but if we continue on this path, it is also clear we will lead to our own self destruction.
As an opinion piece, William Cooper does an excellent job at conveying a clear message throughout his observations. His work is refreshingly unbiased, even though the author is clearly not in favour of Trump and the Republican Party. However, his personal position does not get in the way of his honest accord of reality, and has the ability to present a surprising eye opener. Instead of falling prey to the frenzy, Stress Test: How Donald Trump Threatens American Democracy delves into a wide range of focused topics that are prevalent to the current chaos, and shines light on the great and complex problems America faces today. With an overwhelming amount of voices saturating the press and Congress, Cooper remains clear and level headed about where the root of these problems lie, and where American must focus our attention in order to rebuild trust amongst ourselves. Cooper expertly lays out Trump’s timeline surrounding his presidency, and delivers the cold truth on how government parties have lost their way, both Democrats and Republicans alike. Most importantly, the common theme presents itself in every critique: will Democrats and Republicans focus on the bigger picture, or will the Nation be swept up by the endless drama and let democracy crumble? With clarity and a decent outspokenness, Cooper continues to advocate for the fundamental principles and constitutional values America must continually preserve, without sacrificing the ability to acknowledge injustices and the challenges any powerful country faces throughout its history.
Perhaps, the only negative perspective regarding Cooper’s work, is, if one would read it without wanting to hear they are at fault. Regardless if you are a Trump Supporter or Anti-Trump, our collective responsibility in this destructive state of mind is permeated and influenced by all sides. That being said, Stress Test: How Donald Trump Threatens American Democracy is an excellent recommendation for readers who are interested in finding solutions to our American “problem”. Readers of any party who appreciate perspective and political responsibility will be able to find great insight throughout these collections. Especially, if a reader is searching for a comprehensible understanding of what occurred in politics these past years in American history. All in all, Stress Test: How Donald Trump Threatens American Democracy is highly recommended, with no negative remarks and I can not find any elements at fault.
Stress Test: How Donald Trump Threatens American Democracy is well written, articulated, and allows a liberating platform with attention to clear and relevant facts. The book is published without errors or grammatical faults. The author delivers his opinion and advice in a clear and broad manner, and is easy for the general population to grasp. His material is concise and straight to the point, offering several examples and facts to support his overall theme.
Stress Test: How Donald Trump Threatens American Democracy is highly recommended and I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. William Cooper has constructed an insightful collection of his detailed work surrounding the Trump era, and presented his audience with important reminders about the unbalanced nature of American society and its present dangers. Most importantly, Cooper has the ability to share his honest and truthful opinion without attacking the reader, and creating the divide he himself warns the government against. His transparency and disappointment, runs side by side with his desire for a collective unity, and understanding that American needs to rebuild its trust and strength together.
