In it together, just completely changed my life for the better. Hughes writes with the heart and brings out the best and worst of ourselves by challenging us to understand our true selves. I was perplexed in the first few pages, noting that it was because of my retention and not the way it was written, I had mixed emotions from very sad to kind of upset and not truly understanding why? As I continued reading, I got more and more involved in my feelings and even considered put in it down but I refused to give up and continued as my “spirit” needed me to read it. And there are one or two instances where the author makes sure you are still with "us” and I continued my reading, so glad I did. I was engaged in every single page and related to so much as if everything said here was taken out of my life! I found myself using the quotes daily, which I have read and seen before, but reading this book takes a very deep understanding and use of them. I laughed, I cried, and I nodded in acceptance with many of the statements. It takes you to analyze life as you know it and understand that we are all one in this vast world, with so many things in common but so different. It does not matter what you believe in and what religion, the message is clear, and your soul, spirit, universe or entity will understand. Hughes talks to you directly to the reader and is like we are sitting down and having a very deep and interesting conversation over a cup of coffee. So positive and encouraging is like your very good friend that knows you for a long time and has been through all the stages in your life knowing exactly how you feel and why you feel this way. This author takes you on a self-discovery journey and a check with your past self. The love in this book and the thoughts put into it is a must to have. It is a book that will guide you differently and reach your soul directly in positive ways every time you read it. I know it is for me a so-call to go when I feel lost book. In it together is a book I will re-read a few times in my lifetime and pass it over to my loved ones. It is a five out of five. Love it. Thank you for such a fantastic read!
