Dying Well by Susan Ducharme Hoben is an interesting book that involves a lot of affection. Susan received a myxoma cancer diagnosis at the beginning of the narrative. The surgeon classified the tumor as benign, but without surgery, it may break off and cause her to die immediately. The procedure was planned to take place a day after Christmas because of Susan's low white blood cell level. If Susan survived the surgery, which she did, she vowed to throw the best celebration ever.

Susan and Bruce had been married for 33 years and had two children. In 2008, Bruce was diagnosed with a tumor in his esophagus. Bruce made up his mind to retire, though the doctor wasn't sure yet if the tumor was cancerous. He announced the new developments in his health and his decision to retire to friends and family. Bruce felt a sense of compassion for his audience whenever he broke the bad news about his health. According to Dr. Abraham, the tumor can be cured by surgery if it hasn't metastasized. The doctor explained the risks associated with the procedure and recommended a scan. Find out more as you read the book.

Contrary to what the title may imply, this book is not primarily about stories of death; rather, it is about the unconditional love that one receives from family, friends, coworkers, and well-wishers, even in the latter days of one's life. I thoroughly enjoyed this book since the author took care to introduce suspense gradually so that the reader would feel a sense of continuity as they read. This book has a lot of positive aspects, which include its simplicity and clarity. This book offers insight into the necessary behaviors and reactions expected of family members at trying times like Bruce's.

I did not find any negative aspects to this book. I commend the author's decision to translate such events into written words and eventually compile such a beautiful piece. I did not find any typographical or grammatical errors, showing that the book was exceptionally well edited. I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars since I was unable to identify any negatives that would support a lower rating.

I recommend this book to every reader who knows the importance of family. When it comes to life-threatening health challenges, it is important for family and friends to show maximum care and support. I believe every reader who finds love interesting would enjoy this book.
