"Children don’t just need to be loved; they need to know that nothing they do will change the fact that they are loved." Rovena Kodra started her book using this amazing quote by Alfie Kohn. In The Boundless Energy of the Heart, Rovena takes us on a ride through her feelings and what she believes in as a mother. The approach she talks about can be looked at as positive parenting. She said she was no expert, but she shared what she learned through her journey as a mother. The book is divided into chapters. Each chapter discusses a topic. She starts by talking about unconditional love and how this is the type of love we should have for our children. Then, she talks about communication and respect as aspects of the relationship between parents and kids. After that, she talks about the importance of emotional intelligence in parenting. Then, she discusses the concept of perfection that many parents have and its effect on children. From there, she moves on to talk about how to build healthy self-esteem. She ends the book with a beautiful message for her daughter.

What I loved about this book is that it gave me a feeling of warmth all along the way. The design of the pages and colors were chosen wisely. The font and number of words on the page were appropriate. I can't describe how beautiful the one-line drawings that were at the beginning of each chapter were. They were very simple and adorable. I liked the feeling of this mother's love for her daughter floating on the pages of the book.

I didn't find anything to hate about this book. It was written by a mom, not a specialist. That was something I liked. Some people might find that questionable, but it just touched my heart how this woman could reach all of these healthy aspects of her relationship with her daughter. Some people might think it's natural to have this kind of emotion toward your child. Only people who don't have it would know that it's not natural, and not everyone is lucky enough to have it.

The book was warm and informative. It's a short book, so the advice is about some principles and not very long discussions. The feelings are true and sincere. For all of this, I rate this book five out of five stars.

I recommend this book to everyone considering becoming a parent. It can open your eyes to how you can start a healthy relationship with your children.

A unique book that brings a shift in parenting perspective. The book outlines new methods and the possibilities for a change of perspective around interacting with your children, "raising them", teaching them, and loving them. This is an ABSOLUTE must for all new parents!
