The Traveler's Guide to Classical Philosophy, by John Gaskin

This small but info-packed book is an entertaining introduction to classical philosophy. The chapters are short enough to read while traveling on a bus, plane, or while sipping coffee in the morning before work. The book starts in chronological order to give readers a sense of "who's who" and "what's what," in the world of philosophy, and then quickly changes to make chapters more subject-based. If you're new to philosophy and just want to get a basic understanding of overarching principles, this book is a great choice. The content was never intellectually overwhelming and John Gaskin does a wonderful job making a sometimes "dry" topic interesting and easy to grasp. I would recommend this book to all my friends!
