Carol Farnstrom's book When Your Mind Steals Your Soul's Reward explores the challenges and difficulties of living with a mental illness. The memoir describes the author's personal experiences with mental health issues and how they affected her life, relationships, and career.

Throughout the book, Farnstrom discusses her struggles with depression and anxiety, as well as how these conditions affected her sense of self-worth and identity. Despite the difficulties she encountered, Farnstrom shares her journey to recovery as well as how she learned to manage her illness and find meaning and purpose in her life.

What I liked best about the book was the large number of scriptures she quoted on the subject. Everything was relevant and related to one another, so it flowed nicely. "I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven," one Bible quote stuck with me (Matt. 18:3). This quote explains that you will not be able to enter heaven unless you can fully believe in Christ, just as a child believes and trusts everything their parents say is true without needing any evidence.

The poetry was another lovely addition to the book. It was beautifully put together and added a warm and emotional touch to the story. As a result, when reading this novel, the reader will have an all-around experience. Some parts were heartbreaking to hear, but she always found a way to make things better.

Carol has an extraordinary faith in Christ. She endured physical and emotional abuse from those who were supposed to protect her and was still able to find Christ and fully believe in him. When things get tough, I know a lot of people who curse God and lose faith in him. This book will help you understand that God tests us in order for us to grow stronger and turn to him for strength.

There was nothing I disliked about the book, but it had numerous errors that caused me to deduct a star. As a result, I give this novel four out of five stars because it was an amazing and encouraging read that will be ideal for Christians. Overall, When Your Mind Steals Your Soul's Reward is an honest and inspiring account of one woman's journey to mental wellness, as well as a valuable resource for anyone seeking to better understand and support those suffering from mental illness.
