A life story, "Me, Myself and God," was written by Dennis Trotter. Before a terrible tragedy struck Dennis' family, he was leading a normal life. Following the tragedy, everything seemed to go wrong, and he decided to forego further education and focus on finding work instead. When he was 18, he was already married and wanted to start a family. After a failed marriage and numerous failed relationships, he experienced something miraculous when God spoke to him, and it changed his life in such a way that he now feels whole again.

The author recounts his experiences as a child and young adult in Arkansas from the 1950s to the 1970s. He includes a newspaper article with pictures from the day the tragedy occurred in his family's life, as well as pictures of him and his beautiful second wife when they got married. The book's characters deal with a variety of issues, including loss, trauma, divorce, and abuse of alcoholic beverages and illicit drugs. In this book, the author frequently adds biblical scriptures, especially when discussing his own experiences.

I found this book to be very enjoyable and encouraging. It has strengthened my faith in God and given me the confidence to pursue my goals. I appreciated Dennis's coworker's wisdom and could see how it would alter his course. I also enjoyed the scriptures because they were understandable and relatable to the topic at hand.

It saddened me to learn that the author had been traumatized by the ambulance experience and why he was traumatized. I just can't believe the ambulance staff let that happen. The timeline of his move from Arkansas to Texas bothered me. Things didn't add up, and the story didn't progress smoothly during his tale about the beginning and start of Arkansas and California. It was a bit of a mess because he kept switching between Arkansas and California, and he repeated the information more than once.

I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars because it is so much more than just an inspirational read. Its contents and Dennis Trotter's account were a story to be told. There was a minor flaw I mentioned, but it wasn't serious enough to warrant a lower rating. On the other hand, I had to dock a point because it hadn't been edited by professionals and contained numerous typos. The conclusion ended perfectly.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has ever wondered how to begin their journey with God and their study of the Bible. I think it's crucial information, and this book explains how and why the author began reading the Bible in a way that is more understandable for a first-time reader. Also, those looking for an uplifting read will enjoy this book.
