This is an amazing account of the real life experiences of the author and how she has been so instrumental in the development of community and online. I found the exploration and family history very interesting and important in the shaping of the authors ideas of community. From the rich Italian community ties of her youth, the building of online communities is explored in detail. I was in awe of Gina's involvment in the early development of social media technology that we use today; and how online communities are capapble of bringing people together from all walks of life; how online platforms become entrenched in algorithms rather than remembering its original focus of building online connections, the rise of inflencers; and those that walk away from social media can have a highly producting and fulfilling community following.
I really enjoyed how Gina's plan of bringing people to their potential by not working alone but by building a community of suport that reflects back, i felt, to her early childhood. The author brings extraordinary detail into how an individual can develop an online presence and build a community online to develop potential in self and others. The book is written in a clear, concise and conversational style that really invites the reader into her world explaining just how miraculous and wonderful it is when people live to their potential with others around them - either online or in person. Thought provoking and impossible to get excited and build that community that Gina sees all people (and not select few) can build! I will be keeping this book close as a model for the future - and i can see how it can be of great benefit to people of all walks of life, for all causes, and I'd like to use it develop potential, not only for myself, but for others and to build not only an online community but a "real life" community. The message of the book for me is that you can do more as a community rather than one person alone.
4 out of 5.
