Within the past year, I have read In Cold Blood by Truman Capote and it was a very new genre of book for me. I am not very involved in any books that aren't fiction, but this book has some pleasant surprises and themes that I thoroughly enjoyed. The book detailed the murders, trial, and lives of two men who were charged with the murder of the Clutter family in Holcomb, Kansas. The part of this book that appealed to me the most was experiencing the lives of the murderer opposed to the story of the victim. It was refreshing and quite confusing to feel sympathy for the antagonist in a novel. Capote did an excellent job of giving the complete backstory and thoughts of his main characters as well as a detailed vision of the events that occurred. Overall, the book was full of eventful surprises and harsh themes, but I enjoyed it more than I believed that I would. What are your thoughts on this book?
