End-of-Life Spiritual Care is the brainchild of Rose Martin. This book was written to help people, particularly Christians, come to terms with the unavoidable grasp of death. Many people avoid discussing this topic for a variety of reasons, but Martin makes it simple to comprehend here. Her mother's death was the personal tragedy that inspired her to share this thought with believers all across the world. The author gives advice for both the dying loved one and those who will miss them.

I respect the author's dedication in coming up with this for such an important subject. To begin, she helped readers understand that the process of dying is perfectly normal in life. Everyone who reads this with an open mind will be encouraged by her assurance. This allows readers to better understand what the author was trying to convey. Because she has been in a similar scenario, she understands how one would feel; hence, she provides relatable advice that will aid whoever is currently in one.

Despite the numerous steps in this book about easing a loved one into the hereafter, nothing seemed arbitrary. I liked how every ceremony mentioned in this book had a purpose. According to the author, everyone's faith is put to the test when a loved one is dying, both the loved one and their relatives or friends. As a result, a relative or friend of the loved one could say consoling words and short prayers, or perform spiritual and room purification with anointing oil. The loved one, on the other hand, must recognize that death is a natural part of life and that everyone they leave behind is in God's hands. It is a difficult time for both sides at times like this, so the author assists by providing a wealth of helpful biblical verses and prayers that can be used. How considerate.

I believe the author wrote this book with the genuine goal of assisting people who need it. Nonetheless, as a Judeo-Christian, she seemed to ignore the reality that some other Christians practice somewhat different ways of worship and have slightly different spiritual views. Christian denominations that do not use candle lighting and anointing rituals may find this book unhelpful, as such traditions are used regularly throughout the book. If a more dynamic version of the book is created, I feel it will appeal to a broader audience.

Christians who are Catholic or follow comparable worship traditions will find this book enlightening in its entirety. For those who do not, the book contains bible verses that might be used as a reminder in such situations of loss and grief. This book was enjoyable to read. With the exception of a few anomalies in the final editing, this would have been a flawless work. However, it was a well-written book that received a perfect 5 out of 5 stars from me.

Strange how we fear death as Christians despite knowing the truth of God. Would like to read this author's way of helping people accept and prepare for a glorious transition. Thanks for a great review!
