Review of A Dream For Peace
It would have been a significant loss to humanity if Ghoulem Berrah did not make enough time to write this book with his autograph. The book tells us about his childhood, schooling, struggles, and records of his outstanding achievements in his political and private life. From the source I got in this book, I learned that Ghoulem Berrah was born into misery in Algeria when they were still under the colony of foreign rule. He witnessed the struggles, domination, and colonization by the France of his great country Algeria.
Ghoulem Berrah experienced a higher form of discrimination and discriminatory treatment when he finally got to the university. Still, his peaceful mind found the best way to deal with it while he continues fighting against such acts upon the people of Algeria by France. Berrah contributed so much to the freedom of Algeria; he was a very known man with great teachings highly recommended in his nation and his political parties. Interestingly, he was a medical professional fighting tirelessly for this decolonization. Despite his busy schedule, he still had enough time to fight for his people. His marriage was significant to his peaceful teachings as he married a woman regardless of religion. This book is fascinating and educational at the same time. Grab a copy!
It was very shocking to me that I knew nothing about this author until I read his book. His brevity should have made him the most famous man in decolonization affairs. I am bee delighted to see that he counted it worthy of writing about his struggles and life history regarding the freedom of Algeria. The information in this book is mainly considered priceless; it is based on the true life story of Ghoulem Berrah. I truly enjoyed this book very well, and I also appreciate the beautiful and sensitive pictures the author included. It makes the book look more authentic to the readers.
While reading A Dream For Peace, I only found a few dislikes, which I will state here. I love books going straight to the point; as much as full details are needed for some people to understand the author's purpose adequately, I detest lengthy books. I prefer booms written in the most concise way but with deep meanings. I did not enjoy the long details that made the book cover many pages. It was time-consuming for me; I understand this is a complete autobiography of the author, which requires him to give an account of every phase, but some things would have still been untold. The monotonous stories did not interest me as well. It took me longer to exhaust this book because of some long boring talks.
Despite the destructive aspects I figured in this book, I still rate it 5 out of 5 stars because I enjoyed the better part of it. The book is exceptionally well-edited with no errors and is worth commendable. I recommend this book to lovers of history; readers who love to read and enjoy autobiographies can pick this book. Anyone who would love to know about the countries of Algeria and France, especially during the pre-colonial years, can grab this book and consume the content.
