Official Review - Daddy Stop Talking by Adam Corolla

Post by RandyReadingRoundUp »

(9/10) This is the latest addition to the collection of books by Adam Carolla, and a fine addition it is. After having his Sirius XM radio show cancelled several years ago, Adam Carolla has reinvented himself as a fine podcast host and quite the esteemed author. He most likely gets a lot of help as he’s writing these books, but the final product ends up being an excellent medium for Carolla to express his crude humor and wit. I’m still upset with Carolla for never doing a Furious 7 podcast with Bill Simmons, but I’ll let it slide for this review.

This is the fourth book by Carolla within the last 4 years. He seems to be cranking out one per year, and I’ll continue listening to each one. No one does a better audiobook than Carolla. This book is about his family and kids. He jokes about the child-rearing process, how society has changed since his childhood, and how crappy his own parents were.

My personal ranking of his four books puts this is one second place. The order is;

1. In 50 Years We’ll All Be Chicks – His first and best. I remember laughing out loud many times.

2. Daddy Stop Talking – The best ending of his books. He gives a surprisingly potent discussion of happiness.

3. President Me – An enjoyable political satire.

4. Not Taco Bell Material – Not his best effort. I did not personally enjoy this one.
