Thriving in the Storm: Nine Principles to Help You Overcome Any Adversity talks about self-motivation. It touches on fundamental aspects of life, such as work, family, and how to effectively achieve your goals. It consists of 9 chapters with lots of personal experience and exercises along the way. There is clear guidance that allows you to find your ‘why’.

Bill Murphy talks about his own achievements in the mortgage industry and his journey. He is also introducing a reader to all sorts of sports activities; for instance, the Boston Marathon, and Ironmen. Bill Murphy raised more than 600,000 USD towards charity. Charity plays a big role in his life, and he also believes that it is important to act with purpose. The author showcases his endless pursuit of thriving for more regardless of any obstacles on the way.

In the first few chapters, the author talked about his childhood and how it depicted his future. Thriving in the Storm: Nine Principles to Help You Overcome Any Adversity talks a lot about his hate for his father; however, later on, realizes that his father gave him the greatest gift in life – his strength. He is also suggesting to go through a set of exercises to talk about your past to fight your demons so that nothing holds you back. There is a great level of knowledge and motivation throughout the book. The author also talks about a few people he met during his career, one of them being Louise Thaxton, she was in her 50th when she discovered her passion in the mortgage industry, and her story is very motivational. The last chapter is the most inspiring, Bill completes a marathon after a serious injury. He takes a reader through all the struggles that he went through all the way to the euphoria after finishing the marathon on crutches. This book receives the highest possible rating of 5 out of 5 from me because I adored every aspect of it.

Thriving in the Storm: Nine Principles to Help You Overcome Any Adversity has a series of paragraphs about different athletes and football teams from the USA that female readers or international readers will not be familiar with.

This book is great for sales professionals, marketing professionals, and entrepreneurs. It can also be motivational for university students, it helps with the foundation for the right mindset, understanding opportunities in adversity and the full commitment to thrive.
