Congrats on BOTD. The memoir relives Karen's experiences when she was falsely arrested for drugs that weren't hers. That can be quite a trauma for the innocents.

The book is an extremely sad story of what the author, Karen Keilt, and her husband suffered at the hands of the police after they were arrested for a crime they didn't commit. I would love to read this book to uncover the whole story.

I've only recently started delving into memoirs, and I must admit that I used to think they would be boring. However, I've come to realize that most of them are far from dull, and this book sounds like one of those captivating stories. The profound impact that associating with the wrong people can have, causing life to change in an instant, is truly unimaginable until it happens to you. The author's ability to navigate through numerous uncertainties, from jail time to leaving the country and raising a child, is nothing short of astonishing, making her memoir an enticing and compelling read. Thank you for a great review!

This book sounds like a wonderful memoir about her adventures and struggles that she witnessed while in Brazil, I hope the right people come across and enjoy this story!

Karen's memoir shows a good reason never to give up, even when faced with difficult circumstances. Though her ordeal might have been the reason why her first marriage ended, it molded her into a strong woman.

Great review for the BOTD.

This true story about the author's life and what she endured is quite gripping. I couldn't even begin to imagine living through what she did and then to have the courage to write about it for the entire world to read.

I admire her for her strength.

Karen Keilt's vivid storytelling and resilience through unimaginable adversity in Parrot's Perch are incomparable. Keilt's memoir Parrot's Perch is a must-read for anyone seeking inspiration and a glimpse into the fight against injustice.

A non fiction novel that details horrific acts inflicted towards the author in a militarian regime. This book is not for everyone. But if you can stomach the gruesome acts explained. I suggest you grab yourself a copy.

What a brave person Karen Keilt is to tell her story in this way. It must have been awful to be in prison for a crime she didn't commit. It sounds like she had to overcome awful atrocities to be the woman she is today. I'm looking forward to reading the book.

Writing about life's horrible experiences is not an easy task, and it becomes challenging when one has to narrate the experiences in front of the representatives of the same government. The author of this book courageously unfolds her horrible experiences with the Brazilian police, and this memoir reflects all those aspects fabulously.

The author is very brave for telling her story and for surviving her ordeal in the first place. I don’t know what the police are like in Brazil, but I’ve heard enough horror stories about US police to think that it can’t be any better in Brazil. Thank you for the helpful review.

I am not a big reader of memoirs; however, this one sounds intriguing. Not having skills to be self-sufficient is disheartening, but to go out and obtaining them after a painful experience is admirable.

An independent life where one is not dependent on anyone is the best gift anyone could ever ask for. 'The Parrots Perch' is such a book and with the help of the review it looks more like the survival of the fittest.
