Review of Zion's Promise

[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Zion's Promise" by Dennis R Wilson.]
Zion's Promise by Dennis R. Wilson is a non-fiction piece that delves deep into Christianity, focusing on the last book of the Bible, Revelations. It also touches on other topics, such as the theory of evolution versus creation and the Exodus. Wilson shares his insight into the different prophetic meanings, along with personal anecdotes to emphasize his points. This is as much a religious text as it is a dissection and study of the Bible.
I love the tone of the prose in this book; Wilson's narrative voice was incredibly captivating and fun to listen to. I think a big part of that is how excited and passionate the book reads sometimes as he delves into the different topics. The knowledgeability radiates off the pages and draws you in.
I enjoyed it whenever Wilson would take the state of the world and relate it to different parts of the Bible, giving exact chapters and verses. Prophecies were a huge part of his book, and it felt like an eye-opening experience to hear a lot of them and see reason in the connections that Wilson made.
Another part that was also interesting was when he branched into the suffering of the Jews, told their story using the Bible as a reference, and described their relationship with God.
I really can't think of anything I dislike about this book; it was great technically with near-flawless editing, and the content within it was fantastic as well. I can't see myself giving this anything but 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this to Christians mainly as a deeper dive into something they're already familiar with, but to non-Christians as well. As I mentioned in the beginning, this is equal parts a study of the Bible, and, at the very least, you leave with more knowledge than you started reading with.
