Review of A Dream For Peace
"Peace starts with each of us; it should not be a dream." Dr. Ghoulem Berrah wrote his memoir, A Dream for Peace. Throughout 644 pages, he wrote of his upbringing, adult life, family, and the struggles and sacrifices he made while fighting the French colonisers for his country's independence. The author gives a brief account of his upbringing in Ain Beida, a district of northeastern Algeria. He continues by describing how he was given the scholarship to further his schooling in France. The long yet fascinating journey of Dr. Berrah's life to liberate mankind from oppression began at that point.
Dr. Ghoulem Berrah displayed amazing bravery by standing up for what was right. In actuality, the novel starts when the author enters the world of diplomacy to bring about peace. Dr. Berrah formed lasting friends in Bordeaux after relocating from Algeria to pursue a medical education, and they remained by his side throughout the struggle for freedom. Dr. Berrah had a strong relationship with the president of Ivory Coast as a result of his hard work and potential, which led to him receiving Ivorian citizenship. He discusses his romantic life as well. Although it is absurdly lengthy, consider it a good indication because Dr. Berrah has surprises in store for the readers in the book. This book took me a week or two to finish, but it might take you less time if you're immersed in it. Surprisingly, despite the slow pace, it wasn't at all tedious. There is a lot to say about this book. The more you open it up, the more you find—just like a Matryoshka doll.
Since autobiographies tend to bore me and seem overblown, I must admit that I was initially a little hesitant to read them. Dr. Berrah, however, proved me wrong! Reading about his life was quite fascinating. The difficult read was made more entertaining by the author's addition of images of some of the interstitial events. What I liked about Ghoulem Berrah was that he didn't mislead the audience. To demonstrate the veracity of his claims, he wrote down the research papers and certificates pertaining to his endeavours. The variety of religions was fascinating to learn about. I sincerely respect the author for producing such a well-written and organized work.
This fantastic book has nothing in it that I could find objectionable. It was expertly put together. Reading about the author's ups and downs in life was incredibly inspiring. The author refused to let anything cause him to falter and stood tall and dignified. I have no regrets about devoting weeks to reading this book. You won't regret reading the book, so don't let its length deter you. This book does not contain any sexual or profane material.
For the reasons listed above, it is safe to say that I am pleased to rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. There were no grammatical mistakes found while reading. The book was exceptionally well-edited.
Because the book is incredibly insightful for young adult readers, I recommend it to university-aged students or professors to recommend it to their classrooms. Readers interested in political history can also read this book.
