Review of “Wisdom Of The Men”
Clint Arthur’s Wisdom Of The Men is a personal account of his career and personal life. Strictly speaking, it is not a full autobiography of his life as the focus is on his work and how he developed his business thinking over the decades. The subtitle How I Went From Taxi Driver To Working With Global Superstars & 5 U.S. Presidents – Revealing All My Secrets So That You Can Do It Too clearly describes what readers may expect from the book!
Each chapter of the book was centered around one or more celebrities with at least one common theme. The use of these themes as lessons learned from his professional and personal relationships provided much insight and ideas. The book is full of encouragement for readers to derive some benefit from his trials and tribulations plus all the things he attempted to solve difficult problems.
The sharing of his professional engagements with clients, celebrities, and work colleagues was quite instructive and insightful. I liked the way he related his personal growth as a professional and as a person from the numerous challenges and dilemmas faced. He understood that not everyone will follow his exact career path, but he believed that these lessons may be applied by anyone to their work and careers. I am inclined to agree even though most of his anecdotes are American-centric.
Photographs of Clint and celebrities or other people of note were presented within each chapter. This was a nice touch as they brought his stories to life. He was also making the point that such photographs were indeed worthy for personal and business enhancement purposes. Several instances of these benefits were provided in his stories. He also made this a major selling point in some of his seminars – ensuring that his delegates get a personal photograph of themselves and the celebrity speakers.
Overall, I enjoyed reading Wisdom Of The Men. I would recommend this book to readers who are interested in personal improvement, career development, entrepreneurship, and positive thinking. The writing style is informal, and you got the impression that you were in a personal conversation with Clint!
There was nothing that I disliked about this book. The book was professionally edited, and I did not find any spelling or grammatical errors. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for its clear writing style, its simple story-telling approach, and its warmth towards readers. I may not agree with everything he said but I was certainly encouraged and entertained at the same time.
