Dr. Frank L. Douglas' nonfiction book titled Addressing Systemic Discrimination by Reframing the Problem delves into a range of topics, including but not limited to relationships, organizational dynamics, workforce issues, attitudes, and discrimination. I hope that this book sheds light on the experiences of those facing discrimination, as the saying goes, "to walk in one's shoes is to truly understand their experience."

The focus of this work is a discrimination case study. It showcases the varied forms of discrimination experienced by individuals interviewed within their respective organizations or institutions. Additionally, the book offers solutions to address the challenges and issues arising from discrimination, whether at the institutional or societal level.

The author's writing style in this case study impressed me, as it effectively conveyed the information clearly and understandably. I appreciated the author's approach to analyzing past actions and providing practical solutions that could benefit those currently experiencing discrimination. It was also intriguing to see how each individual interviewed dealt with discrimination within their organization, with some experiencing negative consequences while others had positive outcomes. The book highlights how discrimination can impede one's progress and success. Furthermore, the author advocates for the formation of groups and building strong relationships with colleagues as effective solutions to combat discrimination and improve overall efficiency.

I found this book to be engaging from start to finish, with no aspects that I disliked. The author's approach of analyzing not only the perspective of those who faced discrimination but also those who engaged in discriminatory behaviour was particularly noteworthy. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone experiencing discrimination in various settings, such as educational institutions or workplaces. In fact, I believe it should be recommended to educational centres and included in school curriculums, as discrimination is often taught. I hope that incorporating this book will help combat the harmful teachings of discrimination.

I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. It was a refreshing change to read a scientific case study that was grounded in factual evidence. I thoroughly enjoyed the author's approach to reframing the issue of discrimination, and I agree with the author's assertion that equity and inclusion are essential components in achieving this goal. It is disheartening to witness even teenagers facing discrimination, and it can be challenging for those who haven't experienced it to empathize fully. This exceptionally well-written and error-free book conveyed a clear and powerful message.
