Pete Hall's "Always Strive to Be a Better You" is a must-read. This is a book that needs to be read with diligence because of the practicals and applications in every chapter; the reflections and the questions are deep. The author gives us thirteen interesting key principles we can or should apply in our lives to be the most effective versions of ourselves. This will enable us to win this life game. He illustrated his key points and lessons using the lives of seven individuals, plus himself. This book gives us a peek into their lives, showing how they use these keys to succeed. It proves that anyone, even you, can apply them to reach your true potential.

I appreciated that the key principles were very practical and easy to follow. I believe the principle that talks about "knowing yourself" is particularly important; it stood out to me the most. In order to accomplish anything worthwhile or achieve success, this principle is necessary for everyone. This book has challenged me to review my core values. Is it possible that my core values come from insecurity? That can be a possibility, but how do I discover my true values? I have realized I need to adjust my core values. Also, I loved the quote that said, "Humans are like water; they take the least resistant path." I believe it; it is true. People go with the flow because it is less difficult, and it is harder to be responsible and take charge. Also, this book reminded me that success comes from within and is not dependent on external factors. True happiness and fulfillment come when I serve others, which is significant for me because sometimes I forget. I saw my old self in Chelsea’s fear of failure, lack of commitment, and uncertainty about herself. This reminded me that our challenges in life are not unique to us, and we need to overcome our fears in the process.

Contrarily, I disagree with the triad. I believe it should be body, soul, and spirit, not body, mind, and spirit. The mind is a part of the soul, and the other parts are the will and the emotions. Therefore, I think the author should have used "soul" instead of "mind."
Overall, the book was pleasant. There was nothing to dislike about it except my disagreement, as stated above, which I don’t think is enough to remove a star. This book was well edited; I rate it 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend this book to people who are concerned about their own development and are willing to learn. They will discover a lot about themselves from the deep questions that follow every chapter. Individuals who are unsure of themselves and their calling in life can also use it. But please remember that the process is more critical than the goal.
