Addressing Systemic Discrimination by Reframing the Problem by Dr. Frank L. Douglas is a non-fiction book with two parts: part one discusses the theory and part two contains interviews which is proof of the concept of discrimination. Equity and inclusion are important parts of employee engagement. Without them, the reality of systemic discrimination is witnessed. Inclusion makes individuals participate, and equity brings about valuation within an organization. When the two entities interact in an organization, cultures are born within which organizations work. The author explains the components important in stopping systemic discrimination and discusses the reframing process. In the second part, he provides interviews with various victims of systemic discrimination and shows ways to address the issue.

I admire the author's desire to help stop the biggest problem for civilization. Discrimination affects many people and makes people uncomfortable, and the interviews the author provides in part two of the book help show the affected people. It would help managers see the seriousness of the issue. He used examples to explain how victims of systemic discrimination feel. He was a victim, and police confronted him for being black. Some statistics showed the contribution of employee engagement in organizations. He used the statistics to show managers and CEOs the need to take the issue seriously to improve employees' productivity.

The book was helpful to managers and employees in an organization. It talks about several issues of human relations that would help employees during work time; hence, nothing to dislike.

I rate Addressing Systemic Discrimination by Reframing the Problem by Dr. Frank L. Douglas five out of five stars. The book was exceptionally edited because I found one error. It should be one of the key books in an organizational setting because of the information it contains. It may help many organizations improve employee engagement, boosting productivity. The author used real interviews to show the validity of the information. The book deserves a perfect rating when you consider all these.

I recommend this book to anyone who discriminates against another employee in an organization. It may help them change their attitude and avoid discriminating against others in a job setting. Managers may use the book to change policies and enforce those that encourage better human relations.
