Communication is vital to human relations, but the nature of the communication will determine the strength of the relationship. As the names suggest, healthy communication will result in a healthy bond, while unhealthy communication will result in an unhealthy relationship. Consequently, three authors, Bobby R. Patton, PhD., Rusalyn H. Andrews, PhD., and Jennifer Page Daily, MD, wrote Keys to Healthy Communication to save us from communication-related crises.

The authors draw on experiences from different backgrounds to explain how communication can build or break society. The book explores verbal and nonverbal communication among individuals or organizations and how it relates to health and social behaviors. The authors give a step-by-step manual to develop and maintain healthy communication.

I found many things to like in this book. The book's overall topic, communication, was very educational to me. Until I read this book, I wasn't aware that my behaviors were a type of communication that could affect others' health and our relationship. Secondly, I found it easy to read this book because the topics were well organized. It is easy to confirm the book's claims in real time because citation numbers are pasted just after a text, and clicking the number directly opens a footnote with all the detailed explanations. Additionally, the authors included tables to break down further information for their audience and exercises to involve readers in the healthy communication journey. That is wise because it will put the book's words into action and impact readers' lives as intended by the authors.

Besides a couple of errors I found in the book, I didn't encounter anything significant to make me dislike the book or suggest any changes. Although it wasn't professionally edited, another round of editing will make it perfect. Therefore, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because of the many positives I encountered. I recommend it to youth and everyone above that age. The people in this age bracket do a lot of communication, whose impact is felt by society.

The way we communicate with each other is very essential and it is the best form of learning humans have developed for themselves.

The book's name is evident that a good communication can built a great relationship while lack of better communication skills can lose relationships.

The authors of this book have written this book and have emphasized on the importance of communication in our lives.

They have given some essential points to develop good working communication to help people avoid consequences of bad communication and benefit from the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately.

Different experiences and cases have been mentioned in the book to show how society and individuals can get a
effected by good or bad communication skills.

This book has highlighted steps to develop healthy communication and can be used as a guide to develop communication skills. Also, it has emphasized on body language that are tools of non-verbal communication as well.

I personally liked many parts of this book, as for me it is a tool for learning healthy communication and how to modify my behavior as that is also a part of nonverbal communication. I found many things to like in this book.

Moreover, the language used by author in this book is simple and straightforward, easy for an average reader to understand and comprehend.

Because the book is well cited therefore, the authenticity and originality of the text is unquestionable.

The references at the end of each page makes it more easier to do further reading on the topic and to have better picture of what the author is referring to.
The book is well organized with charts and tables that are easier to follow and keep a track of things mentioned in the book.

I am positive that this book can be a simple guide to learn effective communication skills.

Despite few mistakes, there are no such errors in the book and I feel this book can be a valuable insight to learn communication skills for an average book lover.

I liked how detailed the authors are! They seemed to have put a lot of effort in making their claims as detailed as possible. The fact that there are exercises for us to practice is definitely a huge plus in my book. Definitely will read this. Thank you so much for your detailed review!

Communication is very important, especially with the way we are surrounded by gadgets and everything. This has affected our ability to effectively communicate in a healthy way. The awareness is there but the implementation of the awareness is not. Congratulations to the writer for being the BOTD and all the very best for your future endeavours.

It's true that communication is what makes or breaks a relationship. Wars can be started because of bad communication. This is a book I'll love to read just out of curiosity, to know more about the non-verbal aspects of communication.
