The question, "How is it possible for someone to have experienced so many different things?" naturally arises as the reader starts to read Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's A Dream for Peace. People who have surmounted challenges are frequently the subject of articles. There are several books on individuals who made extraordinary contributions in a certain field.

The amazing thing about Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's life is that he accomplished amazing things in numerous fields and nations. He was not only a key figure in the fight to decolonize Algeria and the first scientist to offer a theory on what came to be known as the "Reverse Transcriptase Enzyme," but he also worked as a Special Advisor to President Houphouet-Boigny. As if all those accomplishments weren't enough, he made a substantial contribution to the persistent campaign to open a dialogue between Israel and Palestine. He was close to historical figures including Mao Zedong, Robert McNamara, Yasser Arafat, Golda Meir, John Paul II, and John Kennedy during his incredible existence. The author clearly states that he will have traveled around the globe forty times by the time the book is finished. With three marriages under his belt, even his love life was heated.

A Dream for Peace is a biography that details the life of this diplomat. Finding out more about a holy man's endeavors to promote tolerance and peace was fascinating to me. The book is so excellent that it describes activities that take place behind closed doors. That's the aspect of it that I appreciated the most. As an illustration, Fidel Castro was due to deliver a speech that would put people in danger. After receiving the speech transcript hours earlier, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah posed the following question: "What if we mute the microphone after a trigger?" The official explanation claimed that there were technical issues, but in reality, it was merely a deft diplomatic ploy.

I struggled to come up with anything about this book that didn't please me, but I was unable to. Some of the photos don't have the best quality, but given that these are vintage photographs, this is understandable.Nobody can dispute the professional editing of A Dream for Peace.

Overall, A Dream for Peace merits four out of four stars and a five out of five stars. The book is engrossing and exposes a lot of behind-the-scenes information. It was great to learn more about Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's accomplishments and his unique life. I advise everyone who is interested in knowing more about the history of Africa following the period of decolonization to read this book. You shouldn't anticipate any coarse language or pornographic material in this book because Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is an elegant and refined diplomat.
