This is my review of The Full Sufficiency of Christ by Christopher Hearn.

First off, let me just say that this book is AMAZING! I love it! It needs to be in every church foyer, in every coffee house, everywhere where there is a need. I have to admit, I was skeptical. I was expecting something a little bit different when I read the info for this book but still thought that it would be a good read. Let me tell you, I was very pleasantly surprised!

The Full Sufficiency of Christ deals with Christianity from a very simple but highly thorough viewpoint. The Scripture references are numerous but used in perfect context and without making the reader feel annoyed at the amount of “quoting Scripture”. This book answers some of the most common but often the most difficult questions that people have about Christianity. Why did Jesus have to die? What does it mean to be saved by grace? What about works? Is there a Purgatory? There are many more, but I don’t want to spoil the book.

I honestly cannot think of anything that I would change with this book. There were no noticeable typos, the formatting was perfect, and the tone of the book flows smoothly throughout all of the chapters. There were very little anecdotes but as this is a more serious book, I feel like the author did a good job of keeping the tone serious but not overbearing.

One of the points that I particularly enjoyed was a recounting of a news article from Italy. Apparently there is a custom of “suspended pizzas”. I will refrain from saying more, but suffice it to say that it was very interesting. Another point that I was very well pleased with is the way that the author handled the question of Purgatory. In my opinion, the author was very thorough to debunk any confusion that people may have surrounding this question without coming off as bashing other religions.

Allow me to reiterate, I LOVE this book! As a minister’s wife, I was thrilled to read a book that so thoroughly handles these type of questions and yet remains engaging throughout the whole work. Also, I enjoyed the poems that the author included, poems that he wrote as a matter of fact. In my opinion, this book will appeal to any Christian or anyone that is searching for answers to the faith that we believe in. I encourage everyone to buy this book. It is a quick read at only 75 pages but trust me, there is more than enough “meat” in this book to satisfy you. My hat’s off to you, Christopher Hearn! Keep up the good work. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

Wow Paliden, now you've got me very interested with this review. I don't often read religious books. Well never actually, but this one sounds really fun. Not that this is my only reason or anything, but I can't wait to find out what the deal is with the suspended pizzas.

What a great review, Paliden! I am a born-again Christian and have read and studied the Bible for most of my life, more than half a century! But there's always something new to learn. I would like to read this book, based on your very positive review. As a poet, I'm always eager to read another poet's work, so the poetry in the book is an added interest for me. Thank you to you for the review and to the author for such an informative book!

My curiosity is peaked. I can't imagine what's meant by the suspended pizza or how he handles "purgatory" since the Bible doesn't talk about "purgatory". Thank you for sharing your review.

Fantastic review. As a Christian, I still have questions about certain things and this sounds like a good place to start. I think I will have to add this to my To Read list. I look forward to seeing what the author has to say. Also, congratulations to the author for getting such a good rating.

Sounds like the kind of book I'm going to love. It sounds very interesting especially the purgatory apart. Great review! Congratulations to Christopher Hearn for such a well-written book!
