In the book, Always Strive to be a Better You by Pete Hall, the author comes to the conclusion that we are all greyhounds chasing rabbits, which we will never catch. The purpose is the chase itself, as the goal keeps on moving forward. To illustrate his principles for a better life, he uses ordinary people as subjects. In each case, he highlights the extraordinary characteristics that guide them on their journey to a better version of themselves. Hall introduces the seven people he used in this book by giving a short background to each. By reading these backgrounds, the reader can already pick up several valuable points for self-improvement. In the chapters following the introductions, Hall Lists the 13 Key Learnings to a happy, virtuous, and good life in each of his chosen individuals’ lives. He explains the successes everyone has achieved by applying these key points. Hall uses seven ordinary people, who have achieved extraordinary success in their different fields, throughout the book to demonstrate and discuss his 13 Key Learnings. This makes the teachings of this book more within reach of the reader.

This book was edited excellently, and I did not find any typos. It is an interesting and easy read, full of inspiring ideas and examples of success achieved by applying the 13 Key Learnings. There is also very often a box called Pause and Reflect in which the author brings home the practical implication of the content dealt with. Reading this book will not leave you unchanged by its contents. Apart from this, there are also numerous boxes with valuable slogans, reminders, and info that can be used as inspirational notes to inspire the reader to become the best he can be.

As I was reading this book, I could not find any part or idea that was unappealing or negative. The language used is of a high standard, and the content is uplifting and inspiring.

I rate [i} Always Strive to be a Better You [/i] by Pete Hall 5 out of 5 stars because of the excellent editing, the quality of writing, and the inspiration and practical advice I experienced reading this book.

I recommend this book to students who want to achieve better results in work and sports, young working adults with the same goal, and even more mature readers who are open to self-improvement. It is one of those books that one would like to keep on the shelf to refer to time and again. It will make a great gift for any first-year student or young adult.
