Reconfigurement is a self-help book written by Alan Fleishauer. It describes the principles that a person should follow before and after retirement. Considering that people age 40 and older need to adequately prepare for retirement, this book contains great insights that can help one successfully navigate this period without getting lost. The benefits of saving, budgeting and investing while working were also mentioned. Stories showing the importance of personal disability policies and life insurance plans were included.
Seventy percent of Americans despise their current job, Fleishauer reveals. They are unmotivated to seek the positive benefits of their current job and are constantly looking for a way to change careers. Additionally, he adds, they may be stuck in their current job because of their bills, and thus have less chance of saving in an environment where they don't expect to thrive. Coverage for unforeseen future events such as disability. In addition, he also shares different types of policies for similar coverages. For example, he explains that life insurance policies are divided into term, whole life and universal policies. The author goes further to reveal the merits and demerits of each policy.
Both at the beginning and at the end of several chapters, the author includes jokes and other intertextual forms to add humor to the book. This is what I liked most about this book. There was no better way to break the monotony of the narrative than with puns, which the author effectively used to keep the reader entertained while learning. His language is also simple to enhance the reader's understanding of specific concepts. As a way to simplify the information, Fleischaver deviated from the prose format in other parts, making my reading experience more tedious.
Although the primary audience is adults over forty, I believe young people in their twenties and thirties will benefit from the insight into planning for the future. The concept of saving affects everyone. Cultivating that art in young people is of special importance.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. This book is free of grammatical errors, which shows that the author is skilled in academic writing. All the pages are extremely well edited and it makes for interesting reading. The author gives more depth to his arguments by using real examples and exercises. This makes the book very informative and fun to read. I want to applaud the writer for doing such a fantastic job!
